WillowBee LoRaWAN Module

WillowBee LoRaWAN Module

Part Number: WB-L-1

WillowBee is a LoRaWAN development module designed for creating industrial LoRaWAN endpoints. It integrates both a CPU and a LoRa chip, eliminating the need for an additional CPU in LoRaWAN endpoint development.

WillowBee offers users low power consumption, long-range data transmission, industrial temperature operating range, support for various frequency bands, and easy programming capabilities.

WillowBee consolidates the software and hardware features required for LoRaWAN endpoint development into a single module, enabling developers to rapidly create products. All software libraries are shared as open source and regularly updated.

Additionally, example sensor designs have been developed using WillowBee. With its "open software and hardware" support, developers can quickly and securely bring their products to market. This allows developers to create innovative technological products, such as sensors for remote data reading or control endpoints capable of accessing distant locations.

WillowBee examples are compatible with STM32Cube software, enabling access to the latest software packages for endpoints via STMicroelectronics.

WillowBee LoRaWAN module can be programmed using various methods, including programming via the SWD interface, UART interface, or USB through the WB-L-1 development board.

    Example Hardware Design

Example hardware and designs created with the WillowBee LoRaWAN module are openly shared.

These shared resources enable users to design their own products with reduced costs. As a result, users can develop their products more efficiently and in less time by leveraging industry-tested designs.

    Open Source Platform

All software libraries and driver codes developed for WillowBee are shared as open source. This allows developers to have full control over the software environment while designing their endpoints and to add new features to the system using third-party libraries.

Developers also contribute to WillowBee’s software libraries. Current steps for contributing can be accessed through the WillowBee GitHub repository: (https://github.com/WillowBeeLoRaWAN/WillowBee).

    Development Boards

To facilitate prototyping during product design with WillowBee, various development boards have been created. These boards allow users to test their products without designing them from scratch and provide a quick Proof of Concept (POC) when needed.

    Programming Options

The WillowBee LoRaWAN development platform can be programmed in various ways. One programming method is using the ST-Link V3 with a 6-pin tag connect cable.

Another method involves programming through the UART 1 pins available on the WillowBee.

A third programming method is using the WB-L-1 development board to program via a USB cable.
